Join us to celebrate the official opening event for 'Catharsis' art exhibition, 6pm at Art Arena Gallery on Friday 30th October.

The exhibition will be officially opened by special guest, artist Peter O'Brien. Live music performed by Chris Fisher.

ME TWO TRAMPOLINE

Our next exhibition is called "Me Two Trampoline" by Cassandra Mahoney. The exhibition runs from the 17th to the 27th of August 2015.

Cassandra Mahoney’s paintings are characterised by a unique combination of realism and abstraction. In many of her compositions figures actively engage with the viewer, whilst in others, one is led into the paintings almost as a voyeur, being offered a glimpse of emotions conveyed.  Colour, repetition and patterning are key elements in her work and producing an intensity that vibrates from the paintings.

Cronulla "Jewels of the Sea"

April 13th to 25th 2015

Cronulla, Jewels of the sea, is a cultural exhibition. Inspired by thousands of years of ceremony, Cronulla represents women's business and the start of the Snapper season.The washing ashore of Cronulla evokes excitement and joy as this is a rare event, and becoming rarer, as the shells become increasingly brittle with an increase in pollution into our waters. The ceremony is represented by the multitude of colour and unique design which are found in each of the shell ceremonial adornments on display.  We welcome you to enjoy this event with us at Art Arena Wollongong, where the unique cultural objects and stories will introduce you to our Jewels of the sea.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY “Empowering Change”

Equality for women means progress for all. An exhibition for all artists of all mediums to that demonstrate their support for this year’s IWD theme, “Equality for women is progress for all” emphasizes how gender equality, empowerment of women, women’s full enjoyment of human rights and the eradication of poverty are essential to economic and social development. It also stresses the vital role of women as agents of development.

Fantasía (The Art of Sebastian J. Smith)

17th to the 28th of February 2015

For the first time, Sebastian J. Smith will be exhibiting his drawings, digital-art prints, animations and some of his Cosplays at the Art Arena Gallery in the heart of Wollongong. The artworks are inspired by "fantasy", which is one of Sebastian's expertise when it comes to creating his artwork.

Art Arena Gallery Gets a Facelift!

In preparation for Art Arena Gallery's '30 Years of 30 Artists' Anniversary Arts Party on Friday 7th of November, the gallery is getting a full make-over.

Our super amazing handy men, Bill Wilson and Michael Iwanski, having been working hard along side hands-on gallery president,Kylie Sweeney De Havilland.

The gallery's face-lift gives are bigger, brighter, fresher, and more modern look to cater to the exquisite artworks by esteemed artists that will be on show from 4 - 22nd of November 2014.
